We were briefed to create films that send a clear and positive message that London is open for business and is an open, welcoming and outward looking city, that wants to engage with the rest of the world and most importantly has long collaborated with other cities, with an initial focus on Europe and a more recent focus in India.
Following the EU-referendum result on Friday 24 June London & Partners, the Mayor of London’s official promotional company for London, created the campaign #LondonIsOpen which was adopted and developed by the GLA. The campaigns aim is to generate and share key positive messages to London, tourists and businesses around the world that the city welcomes internationals and is still one of the best places to do business. #LondonIsOpen has now reached 356 million.
These films focused on Berlin, Paris and Madrid and showcase the business collaborations between global companies as well as start-ups already taking place across these destinations. Companies we filmed to feature include: PAUL International, Siemens, Santander, Banco Sabadell, Vivendi, Devialet, Auticon. Specially designed icons add a warm touch to the subjects and bring their words and descriptions to life. The films were shown at events in Berlin, Paris and Madrid and are currently reaching 500+ on youtube. Following the success of these the same creative approach was taken for the Mayor’s trip to India to showcase the long term business collaboration between India and London. The film was played at the event and simultaneously streamed via Facebook Live.
