SMMT Annual Dinner

We have been commissioned by SMMT to create an annual film to capture highlights and significant changes in the UK automotive industry every year to be shown at the Grosvenor in front of all branches of the automotive sector.

Filmed across the year at different SMMT automotive events, our films are a summary of the automotive year in this pivotal time of transition and features manufacturers, cross-sector industry leaders, journalists and MP’s.

As Mike Hawes, Chief Executive, SMMT concludes “We are on the road to zero emission vehicles and we will not be turning back”.

This year following a new website launch and new brand assets our design celebrated this update by using text animation in the new style and font. The quote by Henry Ford “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself” introduces the film to demonstrate how the industry is working together successfully in this period of transition to zero emission.

In 2024, our design focussed on the highlights from across the year and gave the graphic text an epic look that matched the grandeur of the classical music piece.

In 2023, our design combines shots into seamless pairs to demonstrate how the industry works together to continuously innovate to create a cleaner future for all.

Filming in the UK, Oslo and Frankfurt, our film for 2022 film played at SMMT’s annual dinner event for the UK car industry. The film had to sum up the year with the challenges the industry has faced such as supply issues, pandemic recovery and rising costs but also needed to focus on the resilient diverse workforce and positive future through electrification opportunities. The concept ‘in the detail’ used extreme close up photography of vehicles to weave together the story of the year. Played at the event then shared on linkedin and twitter where it was re-tweeted numerous times.
